At Rocky Mountain Dental Co., Dr. Dave specializes in transforming smiles with cosmetic dentistry. If you are self-conscious about how your smile looks due to stains, misshapen teeth, slightly uneven teeth, or other cosmetic problems, we can transform your smile with a beautiful set of natural, long-lasting veneers. Contact us now to schedule a consultation right away.
There are a few different types of veneers, but porcelain veneers are the most popular. These are thin shells made of a ceramic material that cover up the front surfaces of your teeth. Essentially, your front teeth are replaced by even, natural-looking veneers that can cover up a wide variety of imperfections.
Veneers are designed to treat cosmetic problems with your smile. They are most commonly used to treat severely stained or discolored teeth, uneven or misshapen teeth, gaps in your smile, teeth with minor chips, and slightly crooked teeth.
They are not intended to restore damaged or decayed teeth, and also should not be used if you have major orthodontic problems, like very crooked teeth or a bad bite. While you may be able to get veneers in the future, you will need restorative dentistry or orthodontic treatment with Invisalign if you suffer from these issues.
After you’re approved for treatment by Dr. Dave, it will take 2 appointments over a span of a few weeks to get your veneers. At your first treatment, your teeth will need to be prepared for your veneers. Dr. Dave will clean your mouth and numb it, and then will use a dental drill to remove a thin layer of enamel from each tooth that is getting a veneer.
This enamel has to be removed to ensure a proper fit for the veneers. The layer that’s removed is about 0.5mm, which will be equal in thickness to your permanent veneers. When this enamel is removed, the veneers will fit naturally into your mouth and your bite won’t be affected by the treatment.
Once your teeth have been trimmed, you will get impressions and images of your teeth taken, and you’ll get a set of temporary veneers from Dr. Dave. These will be worn for a few weeks to protect your teeth.
Your impressions and images will be sent to our partner dental lab, where your final set of veneers will be made and sent back to our office. This may take a few weeks.
Once your veneers arrive at Rocky Mountain Dental Co., you’ll come in for your final appointment. Dr. Dave will check each veneer and then bond it into place permanently, then polish your smile one last time. Then, you’ll be sent home with a bright, brilliant smile that you can feel proud of.
